Merts has been looking to expand operations in Indiana and the decision by Ken and Mary Kleine to retire and sell their business provided the perfect opportunity. It’s a win-win situation for Merts as one of our company owners and several of our employees call Northwest Indiana home.
A history of serving the community
When the Kleine family made the decision to retire and sell the business after decades in the heating and cooling business, they chose us to take over their client list. The decision was made because of the strong reputation Merts has built by serving the south Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana since opening their doors in 1952.

Our pledge is to provide Kleine customers with the same great customer service they have received through the years.
